Digital and Website Design

What is website design

In today’s digital world, first impressions are vital and outstanding designs are a major key to success. Users enjoy visiting websites that are aesthetically appealing and easy to navigate. Outdated websites, slow loading plug-ins, hard to read text, eye-straining color schemes; all of these are bad for your brands image, and could potentially run you out of business.

I strive to make the web better by designing and developing websites that are crisp, beautiful, and intuitive. I am constantly improving my own knowledge, and perpetually rebuilding my own project websites. Through all of these changes, I have spent a considerable number of hours using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create logos, background images, modify photographs, and build wire frames of websites.

Why hire a website designer?

Google prioritizes responsive websites

While it may not seem like it on the surface, Google makes sure top search results are mobile-friendly. Since people use mobile devices more over desktops that makes sense. In fact, at least 82% of people tend to use their phones for business activities. This includes buying and selling products. These two facts combined mean there is more money to make on ads on mobile-friendly sites. It makes sense that Google promotes businesses which convert potential users into customers. All it would take is a few adjustments so you become part of the top results.

Design is 94% of the first impression

First impressions matter, and that principle is even more important when it comes to web pages. If you encountered a website that looked difficult to navigate, you’d likely leave it. Like the 94% of others who say they didn’t trust a website because of its design. The same goes for a web page that doesn’t adjust to fit on your tablet. So much hinges on the design of your website that it can turn-off potential clients. It can even drive you further down a search results page. It can hurt the opinion people have about your business through word of mouth. Only, in this case, word travels faster because it’s one tweet away.

Higher quality than self-built

Sure, there are plenty of free website design templates out there. But they’re basic, to say the least. You can’t really expect to create a top-of-the-line, unique website with one of these cookie-cutter tools. A website will require several features, including images, headers, plugins, and codes. All of this may sound like gobbledygook to you if you have no information technology/ programming background. But it’s all second nature to professional Web designers.

How should websites be designed?

I design and develop websites that not only look good, but make you feel good. By combining essential UI and UX practices, I will boost your website crawlability and promote a greater number of user conversions. Whether you need a static website design, or something built on WordPress with eCommerce functionality, there’s a solution available.

Simplicity

Overwhelming users with buttons, colors, or even information, can drastically increase your bounce rate. Following a “less is more” attitude keeps design times and costs low, while ROI’s and impressions are high.

Consistency

Ensuring sizes, shapes, colors, and flow are consistent throughout a web design keeps a visitor from becoming confused and bouncing from your page. We design our pages using HTML5 and CSS3 stylesheets for responsive and beautiful websites.

Readability

Both users and search engines have to be able to read your content to find the information they’re looking for. By using an appealing typography and easy to read content structure, your session times will increase.

Responsive

With 60% of all Google searches being conducted on mobile devices, and nearly 82% of retail store searches being mobile, you absolutely need a responsive website design.

Aesthetic

Perfect color combinations keep website visitors from becoming distracted and losing interest. Perfect color palettes create an awe-inspiring atmosphere that keeps users coming back.
